How to choose gifts for grandparents at Christmas

Grandparents can be an important part of your life, so why not show them how much you appreciate them by giving them a creative gift at Christmas time? Rather than getting them something typical from a store, like a sweater or watch, come up with something completely unique that shows them how much you love them by the amount of time and effort you spent in creating their gift.

Personalized Gifts

As a Christmas gift to your grandparents you can take a digital photo of you and them together. You can then use a website such as Zazzle, CafePress or ArtsNow to add the photo to a coffee mug, t-shirt, wrist watch, hat, teddy bear or pillow. This way you can give them a gift that is unique and personal.

Memory Gifts

Christmas is a good season for grandparents to reminisce about the good times they've had with the family. One way you can show them your appreciation for all they have done for you is to put together a slide show of your favorite memories with them. You can use a program such as Power Point and hook your computer up to an LCD projector. Make sure to add your grandparents' favorite music to the slide show. You can also make a mini-movie for them by editing together your favorite videos of them.

If you are good at composing poems or songs, compose one for your grandparents as a Christmas present. Write the poem on a piece of parchment and frame it for them. If you can compose a song, practice it and sing it to them as your Christmas gift. You can also record it for them as an MP3 or to a CD so that they can play it over and over again.

As a Christmas present, you can set up a romantic dinner for your grandparents. Select a quiet and private place for them. Order their favorite foods and pay some waiters to serve them their favorite wine. Add some candle light to their table and include flowers as well, and have a musician play some of their favorite songs.
